Editorial Standards: How We Research Policies and Test Our Bags
Every venue bag policy guide on Clear Bags Market is built from official sources, confirmed with people who attend events at that venue, and re-checked every week. Every bag we sell is inspected and tested before it goes on sale. This page explains exactly how we do both.
How we research venue bag policies
We build every policy guide from official sources first, then confirm it on the ground.
- Official venue sources. We start with the bag policy published on the venue's or stadium's own website.
- Team and event sources. We cross-check that policy against the official websites of the teams and event organizers that use the venue.
- Local confirmation. We ask people who live near the venue and attend events there how the gate process actually works, because posted rules and day-of enforcement don't always match.
How we keep guides current
We re-check every published guide each week. When a venue announces a change between checks, we fact-check it against official sources and update the guide right away.
How we test our bags
Every bag is inspected and tested before it goes on sale. Bags that don't pass are not published.
Stitching and seams
- Stitch density. We check that stitches are tight and evenly spaced.
- Clean lines. We check that seams run straight, with no loose or skipped stitches.
- Stress points. We check that the points where straps and handles attach are reinforced.
Material and smell
- Smell test. We check the material for a strong chemical odor, a common sign of low-grade PVC.
- Water absorption. We expose the material to water and check that it doesn't absorb it.
- Texture. We check that the material is smooth, even, and consistent across the bag.
Hardware and zippers
- Weight and feel. We check that metal hardware feels solid, not hollow or flimsy.
- Smooth operation. We run each zipper end to end to confirm it moves smoothly without catching.
Lining and edge finishing
- Edge paint. On bags with painted edges, we check that the paint is smooth and even, with no cracking.
- Interior craftsmanship. We check the lining and interior pockets for loose threads and clean finishing.
- Protective feet. On bags with metal feet, we check that each one is firmly attached.
What our guides can and can't tell you
Our guides tell you what a venue's current published policy allows and how it's enforced in practice. Venues can change their rules at short notice, and gate staff make the final call on entry. Always confirm the current policy with your venue, school, or employer before you go.
