These bag types fall outside the NFL clear-bag system and are turned away at the gate unless a medical exception applies:

A few venue pages list the same limit as "12 × 12 × 6" instead of "12 × 6 × 12." That's a different order for the same three maximum dimensions, not a bigger bag — Gillette Stadium and Nissan Stadium both do this, and neither allows a bag larger than the standard limit.

The 6-inch figure is depth, not extra room. A soft-sided bag that measures 6" empty can bulge past that once it's packed. Because stadium staff enforce the outer dimensions of the bag as carried, buying a bag with a small margin under the maximum — something like 11.5" × 5.5" × 11.5" — leaves room for a phone, sunscreen, and layers without pushing the limit at the gate.
